Leo (Michael Madsen) wraz z żoną Nicole (Rachel Hunter) i dwójką dzieci wiodą szczęśliwe życie. Ich spokój zostaje wzburzony, kiedy Walter Karl (Lazar Rockwood) powraca w rodzinne strony. Jest to mężczyzna, który został skazany na 17 lat pozbawienia wolności za morderstwo małej dziewczynki, a za dobre sprawowanie został zwolniony z więzienia. Koszmar rodziny  rozpoczyna się w momencie, gdy znika jedna z córek.
