Akcja rozgrywa się w mrocznym półświatku jednego z najniebezpieczniejszych miast świata, brazylijskiego Sao Paulo. Ojciec (Scott Glenn) i syn (Brendan Fraser) usiłują wyrwać się z zaklętego kręgu przemocy, korupcji, płatnego seksu, zbrodni.
